Je Joue Classic Bullet Vibe

As Autumn swiftly descends upon us, as if from out of nowhere, I hope everyone had a great Summer and made the most of whatever good weather there was. This month Je Joue have launched a trio of exciting new bullet vibes, and they reached out to me to see if I'd like to review one. I'm always keen to support companies that hail from right here in the land of tea and crumpets, so naturally I said yes, and you can catch the review below!

Je Joue has been around since 2008, and despite them being a British company this is actually my first time reviewing one of their products, so it's one of those rare reviews where I start off with no preconceptions.

Their new range of bullets consists of the Classic, the G-Spot, and the Rabbit, and their names more or less tell you what you need to know about them. I opted for the Classic as it seemed the most appropriate for my uses. The G-Spot has a similar design, but a little longer and with an angled tip for insertion, but not really anal-safe, while the Rabbit has two little "ears" at the top, similar to a design I've enjoyed in the Jimmy Jane Form 2.

Probably the first thing worth noting about the Classic is that it's a little bigger than your typical bullet vibes, such as the RO-80mm from Rocks Off, or the We-Vibe Tango, so it's not going to be fitting inside the bullet holes of any of your toys. This does limit its applications somewhat, but if you find those vibes a little fiddly in your hands then then added size here could help.

The basic design of the Classic is pretty much what you'd expect from a bullet, although it does slightly remind me of a half-smoked cigar, with its extra girth and contrasting flat and tapered ends. One nice feature about the Classic is that the hard plastic body is covered with a plush velvety silicone with a matte finish. The entire tapered end appears to be made from this silicone, with the plastic body not extending into it, which gives a nice squishy tip to it. At the very end of the dildo a silicone flap conceals a USB charging port, and when it's in place the bullet is completely waterproof.

The Classic has five speeds and seven different patterns to choose from, and these are selected with three buttons on the side of the bullet, positioned near to the base. Holding the (+) button turns on the bullet, and each subsequent press increases the power, while pressing the (-) decreases the power, and holding it turns the bullet off again. A button marked (S) is used to cycle through the patterns.

At its lowest setting the Classic feels quite rumbly, and when you press it against the body you can feel the vibrations penetrating deeply. As you start to increase the power, however, the story changes. As the strength of the vibrations becomes more intense, they also become more buzzy, and that deep penetrating vibration becomes a shallow surface sensation. It's definitely a powerful vibrator, it's just not powerful in the way that I'd like it. As someone who enjoys using vibrators on the penis, I find a deep rumbly vibration that penetrates into the tissue much more satisfying than vibrations which only tickle the surface skin, so this did dash my hopes a little.

The patterns consist of a few different sequences of pulses going at various speeds, combined with a couple where the intensity of the vibrations gradually ramps up and down, and these are always fun to play around with. I'd call these the tried and tested vibration patterns, as it seems to be the ones you encounter most often, with nothing too out of the ordinary.

In all of its modes the Classic remains pretty quiet, which is always a bonus. It's not going to draw the attention of anyone on the other side of a door or thin partition wall, so you can use it quite discreetly.

In terms of use the Classic is a good little vibrator, and very enjoyable, despite not being as rumbly as I'd like. The soft matte silicone felt very comfortable against the skin, and glided smoothly against it, allowing for a manual stimulation of the frenulum in conjunction with the vibrations. I found that this technique worked well with the bullet on constant at the lowest power setting, and felt quite pleasurable, but it also felt satisfying to hold the bullet stationary and experiment with the patterns at a higher intensity level, as this produced a broader spectrum of sensations. As the power ramps up with each pulse it goes through the full range of that low rumble through to the strong buzz, so you get a little taste of everything, and that uniqueness certainly helps to make up for its other shortcomings. Although at times I did find myself craving more of that rumbly power that I get from some of my other vibrators, I had no trouble climaxing with the Je Joue Classic, it just felt a little more drawn out.

The big question for this review, really, is whether or not I'd recommend this bullet, and for that I have to bring out the We-Vibe Tango, because the Tango has become the benchmark against which I judge all bullets. In a market that's saturated with a wide array of different vibrators, it's imperative to compare and contrast what you're getting at any given price point. The Je Joue Classic retails for around £45 - £50, depending on where you're shopping, which puts it in direct competition with the Tango, which is available for £50 - £55, and this I feel is where the problem lies. By itself the Classic is a good enough vibrator, it's waterproof, it's rechargeable, it offers a selection of different patterns, but at the end of the day it's no Tango. It simply lacks that sheer deep rumbling power that the Tango puts out, and for the sake of £5 the Tango would be the one you'd want to go for every time. As much as I'd like to tell you to go out and support a British brand, if you're looking to squeeze out every last bang for your buck, then I'm afraid this isn't the bullet.

Many thanks to Je Joue for sending me the Classic to review.

Butnik by Hole Punch Toys

A little while ago an e-mail showed up in my inbox from Colin at Hole Punch Toys, saying that he'd like to send me something, and naturally I was intrigued. Hole Punch is a company that I've followed for a while on Twitter, because they make the sort of quirky products that I adore, from buttplugs shaped like carrots and radishes, to dildos in the form of an ice lolly, a wine bottle, and even a revolver - and let's not forget this beauty that is the Fluke - but I've never actually owned anything from them, so I keenly accepted this enigmatic offer and then waited in suspense.

A week later and what should arrive in the post but this nifty little toy that they call the Butnik, and frankly it was love at first sight.

The Butnik is a whimsically Soviet-themed toy, named with a tongue-in-cheek reference to Sputnik, the first man-made satellite launched into Earth's orbit by the USSR sixty years ago this month. It's also a toy of two halves

Much like the mysterious matryoshka doll printed on the side of the shipping box, the Butnik has its own secret: it's actually two toys in one, and this is where you start of see some of the signature Hole Punch genius going on.

Just like a rocket jetting up into the atmosphere, the Butnik can separate into two pieces which function independently. The primary portion is a gorgeous little buttplug made from a medium firm platinum silicone, and the second part is a supersoft stretchy silicone ring, and the best part is that you can order them in any colour combination you fancy!

The plug measures 4 1/2" in total length, with 3 3/4" insertable, and has a circumference of 5" around the widest point, making it slightly smaller than the Tantus Ryder. If I'd seen images of it before having one in person then I probably would have assumed it was a little larger than it actually is, but it's a nice compact plug suitable for anyone in the beginner to intermediate range of butt play experience. The design features a lovely long tapered body, which gradually expands from its pointed tip up to the widest point, and this makes insertion a breeze. The surface of the plug is smooth and shiny, so it glides into the body with little-to-no friction, and though there is a slight seam running down the side, it can't be felt at all. When it comes to actually wearing the plug it's really comfortable, thanks in part to the generous neck and the compact nature of the base. I actually really love the base because of how well it nestles between the buttocks and doesn't disturb you, and also because the shape reminds me a little of a cork or bottle stopper, so there's a comedy element there. The plug offers a pleasant sensation of moderate fullness, in scale with its size, so it's enjoyable to walk around and experience that. It's also very easy to remove the plug once you're done, despite it seeming a little blunt on the reverse. A gentle tug on the base when you're fully relaxed and it comes out with no discomfort. It's the perfect sort of plug that you might want to wear during sex, as well as just for solo play, because it's completely unobtrusive, as well as easy to insert, so you get all the added sensation without worrying about breaking the moment.

The ring has an overall diameter of 1 3/8", and an internal diameter of just over 1/2", which does make it a little on the small side compared to other rings. The supersoft silicone feels lovely and squishy, and has a pretty good amount of stretch to it when you're playing about with it in your hands, but unfortunately for me I couldn't quite expand it enough to the point that I could put it on. The practicality of the ring will definitely depend on your individual girth, as it's not quite a 'one size fits all' device. That's not to say that there aren't other uses for the ring though, as you can always get creative and slip it over a dildo.

The whole Butnik is really well made and free from any sort of defects or imperfections, so I'm very impressed with the quality of Hole Punch Toys' work. I have to say, I am really fond of this little plug. Something about the whole concept of it, along with how good it is to actually use. I have a feeling that it might become one of my go-to plugs when I'm in the mood for something modestly sized.

I have to thank Colin at Hole Punch for sending me the Butnik; I'm having a lot of fun playing around with this little gem, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone out there looking for a good little plug.

Be sure to check out the Hole Punch Toys website for the Butnik and loads of other cool toys, and I'll leave you with this video:

Fun Factory The Boss Dildo

It's been a little while since my last review for Lovehoney, but this month they've been in touch and have very kindly sent over The Boss dildo from Fun Factory for me to try out.

Lovehoney has also just launched a brand new category on their website, Sex Toys for Gay Men, and it's a really convenient way to help find what you want. Considering the hundreds - if not thousands - of different products Lovehoney has in stock, it's nice to have a readily curated selection of all the things a gay guy might want to play with, so go check it out!

Now onto the review below.

The Boss is one of those products which rather aptly explains the need for sex toy reviews. One quick glance at it and on the surface it's a fairly unassuming dildo to behold, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that its performance mirrors this. After all, what's a dildo with a mostly straight shaft and a ridged head going to do that a dozen others before it haven't already, right? Well cast aside your assumptions for a brief moment and allow me to show you how appearances can be deceiving.

I don't know about you, but when I hear "The Boss" I think of Tony Danza sitcoms, Springsteen, and pointy-haired characters from Dilbert. I also realise that I've just made a slew of references which make me seem twice my age. Calling a dildo The Boss though does give it quite a lot to live up to, and while typically you'd be a fool to put much weight in what a company names a product, you can't help but have certain feelings evoked by the term. It's a dildo that says it's going to take charge and get the job done, or perhaps even have you whacked Sopranos style, so already there are certain expectations whether you want them or not.

The Boss is only my second Fun Factory dildo after I reviewed the Tiger five years ago, and it couldn't be more different. It features a design far closer to something anatomical, and much lighter on texture, catering to those who prefer more realism in their toys, and indeed it even comes available in a flesh tone in addition to the black.

In terms of size the Boss is 7" tall, with just over 6 1/2" insertable, and an average girth of 5 1/4". It's definitely more of an intermediate dildo, and may require a warm-up toy for some.

Looking at the Boss you'd naturally assume that the prominent ridge below the head is going to be the sweet spot, dragging its way across the prostate for maximum stimulation, but taking a cue from my experience with the Tantus Adam, I flipped it around and started off using it in the opposite direction. I wasn't sure quite what to expect when I first inserted the Boss, but I wasn't at all prepared for the impact that the shape of the shaft would have. It doesn't look as though it particularly deviates that much from being straight, with only a faint hint of an S-shape, but as you lower yourself down onto it you can distinctly feel each turn back and forth, like your body is a carriage riding along rails. It's a journey which follows a similar story internally, and as the shaft goes deeper you can feel it wave and undulate, bumping up against the prostate in the process. It's entirely unique and unexpected, and once you begin thrusting with it and building up a steady rhythm, that's where it really comes into its own. That wave-like shape, bumping up and down against the prostate with every thrust in and out, creates a strong massaging action which feels wonderful and very stimulating. At the same time the angle and shape of the head help it to find its way deeper into the body, allowing you to comfortably slide down the whole length of the shaft and make the most of every inch.

One of the keys to why the Boss works is the firmness of the dildo. Usually with silicone toys my mantra is "the softer the better" but in this instance the fact that it's a little stiffer helps it retain its shape enough during use that you can really feel it. It's still flexible enough to provide comfort and bend around inside you when need be, but they've managed to strike a balance that preserves the impact of the curves. It's one of those dildos that I could ride for an extended period of time, because it creates enough sensation to keep me interested in what's going on, and it's also gentle enough on the insides to prevent soreness.

In my experience the Boss does only work in this one particular orientation. Eventually I did flip it around to see how that ridge would fare against my prostate, and there was surprisingly less sensation from it than I had imagined. Something about the way the dildo is curved means that the head just glances off the prostate without the ridge having any real chance to press into it. I can't say that I'm disappointed by this however, because I got more than enough pleasure from using it one way around, and that's not something you can say about every dildo. Had it worked both ways then that would just have been an added bonus. One thing to bear in mind is that these products are unisex, so the way which didn't work for me might be more suited to the opposite gender.

If I had to pick one slight niggle about the Boss, then it would be finish on it. The dildo has a matte texture to it, and while it does feel soft and velvety, it's still not my favourite. It produces more drag than a shiny dildo, and requires additional lube to compensate. It's something I can definitely feel the difference between. It's by no means anything close to a deal breaker, but if I had my way it would be shiny every time, so bear that in mind if you're sensitive to texture.

The Boss has definitely been a lovely surprise for me and far exceeded my expectations. What looked as though it was going to be just a pleasant regular dildo proved to be real winner on the prostate, and earned the right to its name. The sensations it delivers have a real unique flavour to them and are quite exquisite, and so I would have no hesitation in recommending the Boss. Fun Factory has done a superb job here.

Many thanks to Lovehoney for generously sending me the Boss to Review. It's available from their UK website, and don't forget to check out their new category, Sex Toys for Gay Men!

So Divine Wild Thing Booty Plug

A couple of weeks ago I received an e-mail on behalf of So Divine, a new sex toy brand that's recently launched in the UK, and they asked if they could send over some products for me to review.

The first one I'm going to be looking at today is this bejewelled butt plug, so head below to see what I thought!

I'm someone who has a lot of butt plugs, butt plugs in every size, shape, and material you could imagine. Butt plugs that vibrate, butt plugs that conduct electricity, butt plugs that jiggle as you walk. You get the picture. The one thing I don't have, however, is a butt plug adorned by a diamond. Well, that is until now.

So Divine has just released their take on the crystal butt plug, by launching a trio of new "Booty Plugs" made from 100% body-safe silicone. Each plug features the same fundamental design, but they come in three different sizes, catering to people of different experience levels. There's the 'Sweet Sensation' - the smallest, the medium-sized 'Bootylicious', and the 'Wild Thing' - the largest of the lot.

As you might have guessed I am of course looking at the largest option, but despite being the biggest in the range, the Wild Thing is actually quite a modestly-sized plug. It measures in with an insertable length of 3 1/2", and a circumference of 5 1/8" around the widest point, so it's quite similar in proportion to the Butnik from last week, or the Ryder.

The basic design of the Wild Thing is, well, butt plug shaped. There's not too much you can say about that, though the bulb itself does have a little more of a teardrop quality about it than your standard conical plug. The impact of this, aside from visually, is that it reaches its widest point more rapidly than otherwise, so that's always something to bear in mind. Beyond the bulb the plug has a slender yet generous neck, and of course is finished off by a nice wide base which houses the signature jewel, waiting to be seen by all it as it sits nestled between the buttocks

One of the things which makes the So Divine Booty Plugs unique is that the jewel in the base is removable and interchangeable. The plugs each come with three differently coloured acrylic gems, one in clear, one in amethyst, and one citrine, which can be swapped out according to preference. The gems each have a silvery backing attached to make them appear more reflective (and because otherwise the refractive index of plastic would let you see straight through to the plug beneath), and they do look quite attractive in place, though not especially sparkly. My favourite has to be to amethyst-coloured gem, as the soft lavender tone complements the deep purple hue of the plug nicely.

Something that's slightly unusual about the Wild Thing is just how firm it is, and I was immediately struck by this. It's made from a very dense, solid, silicone, with almost no give in the surface, the type that typically you'd see used on the coating on a toy, rather than comprising it entirely. The closest comparison I can think of is with the Lelo Bob, and actually for this particular application it's perfectly suitable. The silicone itself has a lovely velvety-soft finish to it, and is free from any mould lines, so I'm very impressed by the overall quality of construction.

In terms of using the plug I really have no complaints about the Wild Thing. It slips into the body easily thanks to its smooth finish and tapered shape, and once inside it feels really comfortable. There's a slight sensation of fullness from the bulb, while the muscles relax around the slender neck, and the base feels really unobtrusive between the cheeks. It's comfortable enough that you can wear it around for an extended period of time, and I even managed to fall asleep with it in, so if you fancy leaving the jewel on display there for someone, then there's nothing to prevent that. When you are done with it I'm happy to say that it comes out again just as easily as it went it, which is always important for anything you might be wearing for a long time.

I have to say that the Wild Thing is definitely a fun little novelty. It's probably not something I would have gone out and bought myself, but I quite like the idea of the interchangeable gems, and being able to bejewel my own butt. It's also a really comfortable and well made plug, which are the most important things, so I'd be happy to recommend it.

Thanks to So Divine for sending over the Wild Thing Booty Plug. They're currently available from Lovehoney.

So Divine Wicked Game Magic Wand

A couple of weeks ago I received an e-mail on behalf of So Divine, a new sex toy brand that's recently launched in the UK, and they asked if they could send over some products for me to review.

This time around I'm going to be looking at the Wicked Game Magic Wand, and it's one that I've been eager to try out, so let the review commence!

The Wicked Game is So Divine's first wand-style vibrator and, as it would happen, only my second. Aside from the Palm Power Massager which I reviewed four years ago, I don't have a lot of experience with vibrating wands, but they're something I've always liked the idea of. What sets wands apart from other vibrators is that they're renowned for their sheer power, and as a known power-junkie myself that's right up my alley.

The Wicked Game is in many ways your standard sort of wand vibrator, but at the same time it has a little bit of a trick up its sleeve, one that you probably wouldn't expect just from looking at it, but I'll get to that shortly.

In terms of design the wand has a lovely ergonomic shape, and feels very comfortable and natural in hand. At 9 1/2" in total length it's pretty long, but because it's also quite slender and lightweight it doesn't feel that big overall, and remains easy to wield. The whole thing is covered in a layer of body-safe silicone which seals away the electronics, making it waterproof, and has a velvety-soft matte finish which feels pleasant to the touch. There's no discernable squish to the silicone as it's only a thin layer, but it feels more luxurious than a bare plastic.

Near the top of the wand are two metal electrodes which protrude from the silicone, and this is where the magnetic charging cable connects. The cable plugs into a USB port, but what I really like is that they actually throw in an adapter too, so you call plug it into a wall socket rather than a computer. This is the first time I've encountered a company that does this, so it's a nice touch.

The wand contains two separate motors located at opposite ends of the body, and these can be operated alternately, but not simultaneously. The head of the wand is designed for external stimulation, while the tail of the wand can be inserted, so it's a little like getting two toys in one. If you do plan on inserting the tail of the wand, then it's worth noting that the circumference around the widest point is 4 7/8", so it's not for beginner anal play.

The wand is operated by a trio of buttons located near the middle of the body, and are easily accessible whichever end of the wand you are using. Holding down the power button in the centre for 2 seconds turns on the toy, and this is confirmed by a small blue LED lighting up. Pressing the arrow button pointed towards the head activates that motor and starts it vibrating on the lowest setting, while pressing the arrow pointed towards the tail end switches to that motor, and you can flick back and forth between them at will. With a given motor selected you can cycle through the various settings by repeatedly pressing the corresponding arrow button. There are 3 power levels in all, and 7 patterns to choose from.

In terms of how the wand actually performs in use, the word "lacklustre" comes to mind, and that's a real shame, because up until I turned it on I was actually really liking the Wicked Game. The vibrations are incredibly shallow and buzzy, especially in the tail end where they seem to get lost inside the toy and barely emanate out. Using it inserted I could barely feel anything of note, and while I don't expect to get Lelo Loki levels of intensity from something that costs under half the price, I did expect more. The vibrations felt more akin to those of a butt plug powered by a £10 battery-operated bullet, than something that was coming from a rechargeable toy, and regrettably they had no impact on my prostate. The patterns were more noticeable than the constant vibration, but at most they simply felt like an intermittent tingling sensation around the sphincter. Even attempting to move the wand around into different positions had no effect, and in fact the physical sensation of the wand's contoured shape felt more pleasurable inside the body than anything produced by the motor.

The head end fares a little better, but only marginally. Here the vibrations do translate more, and you can feel an added degree of strength, but as soon as you place them up against your erogenous zones it's another damp squib. The majority of the settings are simply so buzzy that none of the vibrations penetrate into the tissue or have a significant impact. Holding the wand against my penis I simply felt bored most of the time, and even my erection began to waiver. The only setting I liked was the very lowest power level, because that at least had a little more rumble to it, but I couldn't describe the sensation it produced any more enthusiastically than as "nice." I wagered I could probably produce an orgasm from that setting, but trying to get any satisfaction out of the wand is a real effort, and that's not really the result you want from a sex toy. It certainly wasn't what I was anticipating, judging by my experience with wands in the past.

The one saving grace is that the wand is pretty quiet, but that would seem to be more a symptom of its lack of power than anything.

I have to say that on the whole the Wicked Game magic wand is a disappointment, and it started out with so much promise. It's a good-looking, well-built toy, that incorporates quality materials and modern charging technology, but its functionality is just poor. The fact that it tries to do two things and can't get either right is simply insult to injury. You can't help but think that it would have been better if they'd simply concentrated on one area and really nailed it, rather than attempting to double the features.

It probably comes as no surprise, but I'm not going to be recommending the Wicked Game magic wand. Even at its price point I don't see the value, and I'd suggest saving your pennies for something with a little more punch.

Thanks to So Divine for providing the wand, and you can find it on Lovehoney.

Tantus Prostate Play

$

A couple of years ago back in early 2015 an unexpected parcel arrived at my door from my lovely friends at Tantus, containing none other than what was then their brand-new Prostate Play, and I'll admit that initially I was a little sceptical about it. You may be aware that in the past I haven't had a great deal of luck with this type of toy, and naturally that has clouded my opinion of them.

When I did eventually get around to trying out the Prostate Play I was actually pleasantly surprised by what I felt, but I still didn't quite know how to go about reviewing it, and so I set it aside waiting for the right time.

Today, while I'm still on a roll with reviewing, I've decided that I'm finally ready to tackle this one, so head below for more!

The Prostate Play is, as far as I'm aware, Tantus's first attempt at making a vibrating prostate massager, and as someone who loves this company I was really curious to see what twist they'd put on it. In my experience with Tantus they're not an organisation that ever goes at things half-arsed, or is content to follow, so if they made this then it had to be because they were convinced they could do something better.

The shape and design of the Prostate Play is quite similar to what you'd typically associate with most prostate massagers on the market. It has that vague T-shape to it, with a lumpy shaft, and at the bottom it has Tantus's anchor base, modified with the addition of a small nodule to apply pressure to the perineum. The only significant difference in the design is that the section at the very top of the shaft is more pronounced. It curls sharply forwards like the stinger on a scorpion's tail, poised ready to strike. You can immediately sense that this is the portion of the toy that's going to have the biggest impact during use.

The toy itself is made from possibly one of the firmest formulations of Tantus silicone that I've encountered, and that tells you something about how it will function. There's not a whole lot of squish to it at all, and the only parts that remain significantly flexible are the wings of the base, so you know its going to retain its shape inside you. One other subtle feature to the design is the presence of three raised ribs around the neck of the toy, which presumably are intended to create a little more grip and prevent slippage whilst worn.

Inserting the Prostate Play is pretty simple and straight forward, and you don't need to be an expert in anal play to do it either, as the thickest section measures only 4" around. The exterior has a velvety-soft matte finish, which not only feels pleasant against the skin, but which clings onto lube nicely as it slides smoothly into the body. The toy pops into place easily, and immediately you do notice a firm pressure emanating from inside, undoubtedly from that hooked tip. At first it does almost border on discomfort due its unfamiliarity, but then as you become used to it this subsides. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where the pressure is coming from, and at times I was wondering if the 4 1/2" shaft was overshooting my prostate slightly and instead hitting the bottom of my bladder, but it didn't particularly produce an urge to pee, leaving things inconclusive.

The Prostate Play comes packaged with an RO-80mm style vibrator, and the first thing you should probably do is throw that away. Ok, so I know that sounds a bit harsh, but I really don't have a lot of time for these buzzy little battery-powered bullets any more. The real centrepiece of the Prostate Play is the silicone sleeve, and while it's nice that Tantus includes the bullet, if you're going to want it to vibrate then I recommend picking up a We-Vibe Tango. This is advice that really that goes for any toy with a bullet hole, because a Tango is going to be your number one investment.

Most of the work done by the Prostate Play is mechanical, and how the vibrations complement this depends on which bullet you use. The included vibe does admittedly perform better than anticipated, and you can feel its effects more readily than is typical for a toy with this set-up, but what it creates is very much a background sensation. There's pleasant tingling going on in all the tissue in the vicinity of the toy, but it's still just window dressing for the main event, which is that pressure created on the prostate. If you use a Tango then the vibrations become like a secondary feature of the toy in their own right. That extra rumbling strength takes the whole prostate play up to another level and pushes it into that territory where it starts to become something special.

The downside to the Prostate Play being powered by a removable bullet is that it limits how you can use the toy. Personally I quite like to sit down while I'm wearing a prostate massager, but when any bullet is inserted it sticks right out of the base and makes this impossible. It really would have benefited from a custom bullet that was recessed into the base, similar to what Nexus used in the G-rider, but I can understand why it would have been less practical for Tantus to go this route.

By itself the Prostate Play doesn't do a whole lot, and what I mean by that is that it's not a toy that you wear for the sake of wearing it. It's not like a plug that you walk around wearing because you enjoy the fullness of it, or the feeling something rattling inside you, and it's not the same as one of those Aneros devices which claim to be able to do almost magical things just from you flexing your pelvic floor. What it is is a practical toy; it's a toy you're going to want to put inside yourself when you intend to have an orgasm. It's only once you begin to have sex or masturbate that you really notice the effect of the toy pushing so firmly on your prostate. It changes the sensation slightly, elevates it, makes it feel more intense. As that orgasm starts to build inside you it's accentuated by that pressure on the prostate, all working in unison. If you couple it with a strong rumbling pulse pattern from an appropriate bullet, then it raises the bar again. It's what I'd consider an orgasm enhancement tool, and it takes what your body's already capable of, and just pushes it a little further. When you finally do hit that moment of release, it's like one of those moments when a climax is unexpectedly greater than usual, and then you fall back feeling drained and content.

I think that it is ideal for use with a partner, because it's something that you can set up and then just go about your business. You can focus all your attention on them, while the Prostate Play takes care of things on its end. There's nothing to get it the way, distract, or require constant tinkering with, so it's very convenient. If you are playing alone then you'll find that it's a toy that encourages you to use it with others in your collection. If you have a Pulse, a Cobra Libre, or a magic wand that gives you incredible sensations from your penis every time, then couple it with that action from the Prostate Play inside you and see where it takes you.

So what's the verdict? If I'm honest, it's still not 100% my type of toy, but that's ok because that's just me. What I do know though, is that it performs so much better than the likes of your Prostimulator, or Nexus, etc. That in itself is saying a lot. I definitely did enjoy my experience with the Prostate Play in the end, and while it's never going to challenge something like the Lelo Hugo, it does make a pretty damn good budget alternative. On this basis I'd happily recommend the Tantus Prostate Play.

Thanks to Tantus for sending it over, and it's available from their website!

Lelo Loki Wave Prostate Massager

A mere month ago Lelo released a trio of exciting new prostate massagers which I reviewed here on this very blog, and now today they've gone and announced one more to add to the mix.

Clearly they work fast over at Lelo, and I was lucky enough to receive one to review, so let's go ahead and see what I made of the Loki Wave!

The Loki Wave is a toy which greets you with all the familiarity of an old friend - albeit in this instance a friend you met only last month. Everything from the name to the design makes no attempt to disguise that the Wave builds directly on where the original Loki left off, and you can see it in every crest and contour. It takes that same lovely bulbous shape of the Loki, and adds on a perineum arm just like the one found on the Hugo, but you might ask yourself why the need for this. Surely they could have included this in the design already? Well that's not the only trick behind the Loki Wave, because it combines these features with the addition of motion, real physical motion, the likes of which is extremely rare to find in a prostate massager.

Those of you with keen eyes and a comprehensive amount of Lelo product knowledge may have noticed that, much in the same way as the Loki looked an awful lot like the Lelo Mona, the Loki Wave has an uncanny resemblance to the Mona Wave, and this does seem to be a trend of Lelo upcyling their most popular G-spot vibrators into prostate massagers. Personally I'm all in favour of this and think it makes sound business sense. I've long heard my female reviewer friends rave about the Mona 2 and Mona Wave, and honestly if someone had sent me one I'd have used it in a flash, but it's nice now to have specifically anal-safe versions for guys to try.

The Loki Wave has fundamentally the same dimensions as the original Loki, and in total you're looking at 8" inches from end to end, with 4" of insertable shaft. That may not sure like a lot, but I'm always reminding people that the prostate is actually quite shallow and easy to reach, so 4" is more than enough to get there. In terms of girth comes in at 4 5/8" around the widest point, which could prove a little too much for complete anal novices, but a good size for everyone else.

The construction of the Loki Wave varies slightly from the original Loki, but only with respect to the handle section. Internally the whole toy is made from a firm ABS plastic which is then in turn covered by a thin layer of soft velvety silicone. Whereas on the original Loki the silicone covered only the insertable section and the handle was plastic, on the Wave the handle is now too covered in silicone, though this section retains the same white colouring There are two colour options available for the rest of the silicone, Federal Blue or Obsidian Black. I happen to have the black one again, but I included an example of the blue at the top as I think it looks a bit nicer. The amount of silicone on the Loki / Wave isn't all that thick, but you can feel a little give when you squeeze it, so it does provide a touch of cushioning.

When it does come to inserting the Loki Wave it's a nice smooth affair. The size clearly makes it less beginner-friendly than the Hugo or the Billy, but the gentle taper helps to ease that bulbous shaft into the body, and the smooth plush silicone feels lovely against the skin. Inside the body the Wave feels pleasantly filling; it's not the biggest toy in the world but you can really feel its presence, especially with the way that it angles itself into the prostate and applies a gentle pressure. Outside the body the secondary arm rests against the perineum and too creates pressure at this point.

With the toy in position it stays quite happily in place meaning there's no need to keep holding onto it if you don't wish. The handle protrudes from the body enough that it's easy to grab onto to operate, and with a little flexibility you can see the buttons too. Most of the time you're going to be operating the buttons blind, and due to the handle changes this is a little different now to with the Loki. There are 5 buttons in all, with a central on/off and the other 4 laid out around it like the points of a compass. West and East are + & - which control the vibration intensity, while North and South cycle up and down through the different modes. The central button is identifiable as it's denoted by a depression in the handle, whereas the others have only faint markings embossed in the silicone, so it's usually necessary to use the power button to first orient your thumb, before then moving to press a particular button.

In total there are 10 different modes to choose from, and they all control a number of different variables. You can have the Wave Motion active or not, you can have the internal motor active or not, you can have the motor in the perineum arm active or not, and you can either be in constant vibration mode or experiencing a pattern. It's a really great selection, but it's also quite a lot to be thinking about as you're cycling through them using only up and down arrows, trying to find just the one you want. Luckily the toy does remember your last setting when you turn it off, so if you have a favourite then it's easy to stick with.

As with in the Loki the vibrations are impressively strong, even on the lower settings, and you can really feel them penetrating into the prostate. In terms on what the vibrations themselves are like on a buzzy to rumbly scale, they're more midway between the two, leaning more towards the rumbly side. Personally I would have preferred a little more of a deeper rumbly vibration than what you get, but I always say that, and it's still a really pleasing sensation that it delivers, especially when coupled with the intensity of the power settings.

The real star of the show here though is the Wave Motion, because if you only wanted vibrations then you'd just buy a Loki. The motion technology is what takes the Loki Wave to a whole other level. When it's activated the main bulb of the device moves towards the perineum arm and then back again, like a robotic hand making a squeezing motion. Inside the body it has the effect of gently applying pressure repeatedly to the prostate, just as though you were attempting to massage it with a manual toy. It's actually quite an amazing effect, especially in conjunction with the strong vibrations. It's honestly like nothing I've felt throughout hundreds of reviews. One good feature about the presence of the perineum arm is that it does provide leverage while the toy is in motion, and ensures that it's actually the internal portion that's moving, and not just the handle wagging around outside the body. I make this point because it's not the first time I've tried a prostate massager with motion, if you'll recall the Nexus Revo 2. In that case it employed a completely different rotary motion, but most of the time the part that moved was the base outside the body, and not the internal arm. With the Loki Wave it's not strictly necessary to hold the handle during use in order to feel the effect of the motion, but it can alter the sensations slightly if you choose to.

What's actually nice about the Wave Motion is that you don't have to do a thing with the toy, it's the ultimate lazy man's pleasure. With the Loki I'd often find myself wanting to thrust a little with it to get that extra touch of manual stimulation, but now that's completely taken care of. You just select your favourite pattern and vibration strength, then lie back and let it go to town. The whole combination of effects just feels incredible, from the deep vibrations simultaneously penetrating the perineum and prostate, to that methodic back and forth motion, prodding and squeezing your prostate, like it was a piece of dough being kneaded by a strong-armed Swedish baker. It's one of those toys that makes you think again of the mythical prostate orgasm, and wonder once more if you might be able to reach it. If you just let it do its thing then it does seem possible, and feels great just like this, but coupled with regular masturbation you're guaranteed one of the best orgasms of your life.

Like the other Lelo prostate massagers the Loki Wave is rechargeable, has a lockable keypad for use when travelling, and comes with a cloth storage pouch. It is a tad more noisy than the Loki due to a slight whirring from the Wave Motion, but with a closed door it's doubtful anyone would hear it. It comes with a USB charging cable rather than a wall plug, and again it's 100% waterproof, giving you the option of safely using it in the bath or shower.
So as we reach the point of the review where I feel that it's time to wrap up, I only have one thing to say; buy one. Lelo have really impressed me once again with this one, and after the Loki I wasn't sure where they could go next. The introduction of Wave Motion just takes a prostate massager beyond expectations, and I feel as though I'm almost spoiled for any other toy now. It thoroughly deserves my recommendation, and if you have a prostate then you owe it to yourself to try it.

Thanks to Lelo for sending me one to review and it's available to buy directly from Lelo, and the following places around the world:

VixSkin Johnny

It's time for a review of one of my favourite dildos, and I can't believe it's taken me all this time to get around to it, the Vixen Creations VixSkin Johnny.

I first bought this dildo back in 2013, making it the third dual-density Vixen toy in my collection, and it's by far the most realistic one I own. Head below for the review!

I have to admit, I can't get enough of VixSkin dildos. Since the moment I first laid eyes on one many moons ago it began something of a love affair, so it was only a matter of time before one became two, and now two became three... Somehow there always seems to be a perfectly good reason to get another. With the Randy I had to have it because of its sheer girth, with the Maverick it was all about that stunning colour, and now with the Johnny it was that beautiful realistic look that attracted me to it more than anything. As much as I love an abstract dildo, packed with exciting shapes and colours, sometimes you really just crave the beauty of an actual penis, and the Johnny fulfils that brief excellently.

Of all the toys I own the Johnny probably most reminds me of the Tantus Adam, and that's purely down to its shape. That lazy backwards curve makes it look as though it's just drunk a rum cocktail out of a coconut, and is about to end its vacation by dancing under a limbo pole. It is a real thing of beauty, more detailed and realistic than any toy I own, bar the Fleshjack dildos that were cast directly from real men. You can see the subtle creases in the balls, the protruding veins meandering up the shaft, and a little ruffle of skin below the head, like an Elizabethan collar of retracted foreskin. No attention has been spared in its crafting, and as a connoisseur of fine phalluses I very much appreciate it.

In terms of size it maintains its sense of realism, avoiding any truly outlandish proportions. In total it's 7 1/2" long, with 6 3/4" insertable, while the girth measures in at 5 3/8" in circumference around the middle of the shaft, increasing slightly to 5 3/4" around the widest part of the head. It's slightly above average, but it's a good believable size for anyone looking to keep things in proportion.

My favourite feature of the dildo by far has to be how squishy it is, and that's down to the VixSkin construction. Vixen Creations are the original manufacturers of the dual-density dildos - the pioneers - and as much as I adore my O2 Tantus toys, Vixen admittedly do it a little better. Well, "better" is subjective, so instead let's simply say that they do it differently. Unlike Tantus dildos which tend to have a large inner core, and only a thin layer of soft silicone, Vixen are extra generous with the softer material. The result is that most of the shaft is just as soft and squeezable as the head, which does compromise the realism effect somewhat, but it's just so damn nice to grab in your fist that you find yourself not caring about the accuracy. It's like having a squishy dick-shaped play thing to throw around to your heart's content, and that pretty entertaining in and of itself.

In terms of actually using the dildo it's an absolute treat, and it starts off with a very comfortable insertion. Naturally you're going to expect a bit of a stretch given the size of the Johnny, but the squishiness of the material completely cushions the impact, and it actually feels quite gentle against the muscles as they slowly dilate. In my experience there's no need for a warm-up toy prior, and if you take your time you won't risk straining anything. With it inside the body it does actually feel quite real, and you get a pleasant sense of fullness from it, with no unwanted jabbing or poking. It even begs you to squeeze it as hard as you can with your muscles, just to test how soft it really feels. One of my favourite features is that if you give it a little time to absorb some of your body heat, then it warms up to a natural temperature to further that sense of realism.

The curve on the Johnny gives you a couple of options on how to use it, either with the curve pointing forwards towards the prostate, or backwards in the direction of the spine. With many dildos you find that they only really function well in one orientation, but what's especially nice about the Johnny is that it performs equally well both ways, though slightly differently.

My instinct is typically to start with a curved dildo in the backwards position, and here I found that the Johnny slipped fully into my body with no trouble at all. As it gets deeper you can feel that pressure as it hits the top of the rectum, but instead of stopping it just keeps going further. At first that surprised me, and pleasantly so, as normally depth can be something I struggle with, but that combination of the curved shape, the flexible shaft, and the squishy tip, all seemed to help it slink seamlessly around inside me. You get a unique sense of fullness when something goes that far, but the whole thing felt perfectly comfortable. In this position the dildo seems to benefit from long hard thrusts, and one of the pleasurable sensations it produces each time is actually when it goes the full depth. Initially I was worried that there would be discomfort if I was too rough with deep thrusting, but none ever materialised. In terms of prostate stimulation, at first I didn't experience much in this position, and thought that I may have to write it off, but it actually all depends on technique. If you're riding the dildo and you simply go up and down, then it doesn't do a lot for the prostate, but if you come at it from an angle and thrust up and back, and down and forward, then it really pulls the shaft into the prostate and drags it firmly across the surface. Like this it produces some great sensations that could easily rival any other good dildo, and so you get a broad combination of different stimulation. In this configuration I felt as though I could have quite happily sat there riding the Johnny for hours.

Once you flip the Johnny around it becomes a different animal altogether. This time it's far less willing to go deep with ease, and while it is possible with a little coaxing, you're really going to want to focus on rapid shallow thrusts instead. The reason for this is that now the Johnny becomes an absolute firecracker for the prostate. Whilst inside you the shaft of the dildo is flexible enough that it can easily bend against the direction of its natural curve, but in the process the elasticity of the material pulls it firmly back into the prostate for maximum effect. As you start thrusting you can feel that pressure strongly against the prostate, and even pick out the coronal ridge of the head as it passes over. You barely need any depth from the dildo at all to achieve this, and thus the more vigorous you are the greater the stimulation. It truly feels exquisite like this, and I almost didn't want to stop. Whereas I was perfectly satisfied with the prostate pleasure from the other orientation, this took it to weak-at-the-knees level.

The one downside to the design of the Johnny is the balls, and this is for a couple of reasons. Firstly time is not kind to them. While they start off as a nice flat base, after a few months they'll start to curl up significantly, and from my understanding this is due to the softer silicone contracting as it ages. While this doesn't really affect the performance of the dildo, it doesn't look especially attractive and can be disappointing to discover. The other reason is that the balls aren't exactly compact, measuring 4 1/2" x 2 3/4". For a feature that serves absolutely no practical purpose, the balls take up a lot of room. They mean that the Johnny doesn't even fit into one of Vixen's signature storage tubes, and instead require a larger plastic box. If you already have a jam-packed toy drawer like me then this can make storage an issue, so I do kinda wish they offered a ball-less version.

So what really is there left to say about the Johnny? I love this toy in everything from the way that it looks to the way that it performs, and boy does it perform. There's not often you can find a dildo that seemingly does everything, but the Jonny will fill you up, go deep, and give your prostate the workout of a lifetime. It's a great all rounder of a toy, and I won't even hold the balls against it. It's one that comes highly recommended from me.

VixSkin Outlaw

Fresh off the heels of my Johnny review I thought I'd tackle the fourth and final dual-density Vixen dildo in my collection, the mammoth that is the Outlaw.

Head below for more!

When it came to buying another VixSkin dildo back in 2013 there was really only one direction for me to head in, and The Outlaw may well be the biggest dildo in Vixen's repertoire. To put it frankly, it's a beast, and how else would you describe something that's as long as your forearm and thicker than your wrist?

The Outlaw is what I like to think of the ultimate fantasy dildo. If you've ever dreamed of sex with an abnormally large penis, the type that's rare even within the world of porn, then the Outlaw is the big squishy colossus that's going to make it happen.

It's quite uncommon amongst sex toys to find a dildo that's both massive, realistic, and made from a high-quality material, so the Outlaw is a truly unique catch. To give you an idea of the sheer size, it measures 9 1/2" from base to tip, with 9" insertable, and a circumference of 6 1/4" which remains consistent down its length. Not something you could exactly hide in a pair of skinny jeans.

The design is much more muted than with the Johnny, with a completely straight shaft and a head that barely flares out, but it maintains the same high level of detailing. You can see the grain of the skin all across the shaft, along with plenty of shallow surface veins, and near the head there's a wrinkle of foreskin that wraps around and forms a frenulum on the underside. On the whole it's still pretty realistic, as much as it can be for something of its size, but slightly less so than the Johnny.

The Outlaw is made from Vixen's dual-density "VixSkin" silicone, which employs the same principle as the Tantus O2 toys to create a realistic feel. At the core there's a medium-firm silicone which gives the toy its structure, and this in turn is coated in a layer of plush squishy soft silicone, which mimics the spongy nature of the glans. I absolutely adore the feeling of these toys, and it's hard not to sit there just squeezing them every time you take them out.

When it comes to using the Outlaw you're really going to want a warm up toy, because there's not a whole lot of taper on that head. I used it right on the back of finishing up with the Johnny, and I found that that was sufficient. As long as you've done a little bit of the work first, then inserting the Outlaw is actually pretty easy and comfortable, and the soft material helps to gently stretch you to accommodate it. Once you've got past that you can begin to experience just how filling the Outlaw is, especially as you take it deeper. The initial fullness is very pleasant and enjoyable, but depth can be a challenge as it begins to stretch you in places that aren't used to that girth. If you've mostly been using conical butt plugs to become accustomed to taking larger toys, then the deeper areas will only have experienced the narrow end of the taper, so something long and thick will comes as a shock. This does actually make the Outlaw a good training tool for taking bigger things deeper, because the softness of the material ensures minimal discomfort as you steadily attempt to work it deeper inside.

In terms of performance the Outlaw is a blunt instrument, and everything it does comes down to its size. The whole dildo fills you up so well that it can't avoid hitting your prostate every time, and so there's no nuance to the design, or need for any little trick. It really doesn't even matter which way around you insert it, because that bulbous tip is going to do its job regardless of where the ridge on the head is facing. One thing I really like about the Outlaw is the extra height it gives you whilst riding it. Unless you're planning on taking it to the base every time, it enables you to thrust without having to squat all the way down to whatever surface you're resting it on. Most of the time shallow thrusts are all you need for good prostate stimulation, and it can feel quite intense. The wonderful fullness combined with the repeated firm contact with the gland creates a wonderful and highly-satisfying sensation. You really do get that fantasy scenario of this big schlong stretching you out and bludgeoning all your erogenous zones, as it drives you towards ecstasy. It's a totally different experience to with the Johnny, and allows you to blissfully indulge in a true size-queen moment.

Much like with the Johnny the balls do let the Outlaw down a little. The dildo won't even stand upright by itself once they've begun to curl up, so you will need to hold it and guide it into your body, rather than just lowering yourself down onto it. It's not a huge deal, but sometimes you do want to set a dildo aside while in the middle of using it, without lying the lube-covered sections against a surface.

So let's cut to the verdict on this one. If you want a huge, realistic, body-safe donkey dick to fulfil all your fantasies, then this is the one I'm going to recommend. Vixen make some incredible products, and I definitely love the Outlaw. I'm not quite the size queen I used to be, but for special occasions it's great to bring out the big gun

The Outlaw is available from SheVibe, Lovehoney U.S, and Lovehoney UK

Tantus Ryder

Everyone's favourite butt plug, the Ryder, has undergone another facelift recently, and so it's time for me to update my review!

Head below to get the low-down.

The Ryder has long been considered something of a toy-box staple by reviewers far and wide, and in truth any time a product holds that sort of acclaim it's always a bold risk to go tinkering with the design. In the case of Tantus this is a risk they've already taken once before, when they debuted a new thicker base a few years back. That was the Ryder I first became acquainted with, and this time around its once again the base that's been the primary subject of the re-engineering. What makes a great toy truly great is often down to more than just the sum of its parts, so having missed out on the original Ryder I'm quite curious to find out just how much of an impact a new base will have this time, for better or worse.

I've always said that the Ryder is a fairly nondescript toy, and I think that still holds true even in its third iteration. There's really nothing bold or flashy about it that leaps out at you or captivates your interest, and this is probably why it was a while before I ever acquired my first one. I've always found myself most drawn to toys with a little more flare and pizazz, and some unusual design element that commands your attention, but actually it's the simplicity of the Ryder that's the key to why it works.

The Ryder in essence is a capsule, a long ellipsoid gently curved at both ends, like an oversized health supplement. It's not the most glamorous description, but what I do like is how the new base manages to inject a little more energy and personality into an otherwise plain plug. There's an inescapable perkiness to how the edges of the anchor shape curl up like the corners of a mischievous smirk, or extend out pointedly like the horns of a playful devil. In fact it's quite the contrast to how the base of the old Ryder looked like an orthopaedic shoe, and immediately gives it more shelf appeal.

In terms of size the Ryder is quite a bit smaller than the previous model - almost 33% - and this really took me by surprise, so in the name of being thorough I went off to do a little investigating. From what I was able to find out it would seem that in fact the very first model of the Ryder was alsosmaller than my old version, which only raised further questions. Theoretically it could be that Tantus simply decided revert to the original size, and the second iteration was a mere anomaly, but it's an interesting point to note for anyone who owns a 1st or 2nd generation Ryder, and is considering an upgrade. The new plug measures 4.5" in total length, with 4" insertable, and it has a circumference of 4 3/4" around the widest point. Compare this with my old version which is 5" long, 4 1/4" insertable, and 5 1/4" in circumference, and you can see it's a not-insignificant difference. If you want to get into real nerd territory then the new plug weighs 86g (3oz), versus the old plug which is 128g (4.5oz). On the whole it's still a pretty middle-of-the-road configuration that should appeal to a broad cross-section of people, though complete novices may prefer something with a little less girth and more taper.

One interesting change to the design of the Ryder is in its finish. It's still made from Tantus's wonderful body-safe silicone, but now instead of having a shiny high-gloss surface it features a velvety-soft satin texture. This puts it more in line with other plugs in the Tantus range, such as the Twist, the A-Bomb, the Perfect Plugs, and even the Prostate Play. Generally I prefer a shiny toy for anything you thrust with, but for plugs satin is absolutely fine, and helps hold onto lube a little better.

When it comes to using the plug The Ryder is a complete joy, and I'm going to go ahead and say that you probably won't need a warm up toy if you've had experience with other butt plugs and/or dildos before. Because it's that bit smaller, and the tip has slightly more of a taper to it, it shouldn't be that much of a challenge to beginners either. That isn't something I could have said about the older model which was much thicker and blunter near the tip. The matte surface of the silicone slides easily through the muscle, with no significant difference in sensation to the shiny version, and the small amount of give in the surface ensures a comfortable experience if you decide to pause along the way and give a little clench.

Once the tip of the plug has crossed that threshold then it's pretty much smooth sailing from there out, and it gently glides the rest of the way in. There's no real sense of a "pop" as the bulb becomes completely enveloped, and instead the sphincter just swallows up the narrow neck and comes to rest against the base. One interesting thing to note about the neck is that it's again smaller on the new plug than the old, being half an inch less in circumference, and actually a 1/4" less than the comparable Twist. It's a decent size because it's narrow enough to allow the sphincter to relax somewhat around it and not feel constantly stretched open, and it's long enough to have room for the entire sphincter to sit in contact with it and away from the underside of the bulb.

The Ryder feels incredibly comfortable whilst being worn, and that was the first thing that I really noticed. The capsule shape is pleasantly filling but without being too much, so you're aware that something is there, but it's not constantly grabbing your attention with strong sensations. It's definitely more subtle than the previous Ryder, so it's a bit of a trade-off. After swapping them back and forth a few times I could easily tell the difference, and on occasions I would find myself missing that extra girth, but overall the new Ryder felt a little more natural inside the body, and I appreciated the extra comfort that came with that. For me one downside of the new design is that it feels slightly less secure in the body than the old one. Because the bulb of the plug is smaller there's simply less there to hold it in place behind the sphincter, and at times you can feel the neck moving around. It can be a little disconcerting at first, but despite that I don't think it would slip out by accident in the course of general use. During a full day of wear I had no issues to report on, but I probably wouldn't trust it if I'd previously used a significantly larger toy, as the muscles would just be too relaxed.

One of my absolute favourite features of the plug is the new base, because it's now so slimline, discreet, and comfortable to wear. It features the aforementioned anchor-style design, and what I love most is how well it conforms to the shape of the body, and how it feels because of it. It nestles perfectly between the buttocks and feels completely unobtrusive. When you're stood up you can't even see any hint of the base, meaning you can wear it under clothing without it being noticed, and it allows free movement when walking around, as though nothing was there. You're even able to sit down while wearing the plug, including on some completely hard surfaces, and this was problematic with the old style base due to its sheer thickness. It's ideal for long term wear, whether you want to use it all day, sleep with it in, wear it during sex, you name it. This is one design change that I can fully get behind.

I have to say I'm really impressed by the upgrades to the Ryder, and would consider this to be the definitive version now. It's a great plug if you're looking for something straightforward and no frills, and it definitely is a key piece for every toy drawer. Sometimes you just want a plug that's going to be a plug, and offer that nice sensation of having something moderately sized filling you up, and this does just that, and extremely well. It's not the right product if you want lots of texture, prostate stimulation, or to feel overly filled, but it's a fantastic place to start with a butt plug collection, and a toy that you'll keep coming back to because of its comfort and quality. One thing I would love to see is Tantus make an XL version that brings back the old size combined with the new base, just because I always love the option of something a little bigger.

Thanks to Tantus for sending over the new Ryder. I'd happily recommend it, and you can grab one directly from them.

Fun Factory B-Balls Duo

Let me tell you a quick little story about the sort of company that Fun Factory is.

A couple of years ago they released the first incarnation of their B-Balls butt plug, and I was generously sent one to review. It was a fantastic plug, but the one little niggle I had was with the base, so I devoted a whole portion of my review to discussing this and suggesting ways that it could be improved, and I even ended by Photoshopping a quick mock-up of my perfect design

Flash forward to six months ago and someone left a comment on my review saying that Fun Factory had changed the design, so I went off to investigate and sure enough the new B-Balls Duo addresses every single point that I made. I was astounded. I honestly can't stress just how impressed I am that Fun Factory listened to all this feedback and then acted on it. It's a wonderful reflection on how consumer-oriented they really are.

Now I have my hands on the new B-Balls Duo, and it's time to update the review, so head below for more!

I've always considered myself to be quite lucky as a male sex toy reviewer, because the sky really is the limit when it comes to what I can use. There are products I can insert myself into, such as Fleshjacks and the Cobra Libre, and then there are toys I can put inside me, from dildos to butt plugs, and even special vibrators. That metal G-spot tool people rave about? Its great for prostate massage. That high powered clitoral vibe everyone loves? It works wonders on my frenulum. I've even managed to re-purpose a bright pink rabbit as an anal vibrator and perineum massager.

Every now and again, however, there comes along a toy which really is only for the opposite sex, and then I sit there wistfully pondering exactly what it might feel like for them to use it. For the longest time one of those products was kegel balls: those hollow spheres containing a free-moving ball bearing, which women insert in order to tone their pelvic floor muscles. Also referred to in those 50 Shades circles by the cringe-worthy moniker "jiggle balls." Up until a couple of years ago you'd have to have been slightly foolish to try such a product as a man, because with only a rudimentary retrieval system they're the sort of small objects that can easily disappear inside a rectum, but then Fun Factory finally came up with the answer, in the form of their B-Balls plugs.

The B-Balls Duo is in essence Fun Factory's "Smartballs Duo" kegel balls, but repackaged as a butt plug with a flared anal-safe base. In many ways it's almost a surprise that no one thought to do it sooner - perhaps no one thought there would be a demand - but I'm certainly happy that it now exists, and that I can try it out.

In general terms of being a butt plug the B-Balls Duo isn't actually all that large, neatly placing it in that size range which caters to the widest number of people. In terms of length you have 4 1/2" insertable, and the circumference of the various sections is as follows: 1st bulb - 4 1/4". 2nd bulb - 4 3/4". Neck - 2 1/4". It's clearly not the most girthy plug in the world, so I'd be happy suggesting that almost anyone bar a complete novice would be fine using it, but it's also not a plug which relies entirely on size to create stimulation, so don't rule it out yet if you're someone who likes a stretch.

The B-Balls Duo is constructed with Fun Factory's usual selection of high quality body-safe materials - namely silicone and ABS plastic - and to their high production standards as well, so you can feel reassured that you're getting a top notch piece of German engineering. The actual manner in which the design is put together is rather interesting from a technical standpoint. There are two hollow spheres made from a hard pink plastic, each containing a single ball-bearing, and these in turn are held together by a silicone outer shell which is firmly bonded to the exterior surface of the plastic, and which makes up the remainder of the shape of the plug. What's unusual is that sections of the pink plastic have purposely been left visible, and aren't covered by the silicone, giving a rather attractive design feature, but it's hard to know if this was decided upon purely for aesthetics, or as necessity during the moulding process. The downside to this design element is the presence of a slight groove that runs between the plastic and the silicone, creating a place for dirt to readily gather and making it somewhat harder to clean, which isn't ideal for a toy that's going to be used anally. It's just as well that the materials are all non-porous and can be sterilised by boiling, or soaking in a 10% bleach solution, allowing you to freshen the whole thing up after use.

The silicone that's been used in the manufacturing is surprisingly firm for a Fun Factory toy, and has little-to-no give in the surface when you squeeze it. It also accounts for only a thin layer covering the plastic spheres, so it doesn't really offer any cushioning as you might often expect. I found this especially apparent when comparing it to the new vibrators in my giveaway, as they have a slightly thicker and much softer silicone layer, giving a completely different feel. My speculation is that the firmer silicone was a requirement to make it bond so securely to the plastic, as anything softer - and therefore more elastic - could have compromised this. Despite the firmness of the silicone the thin neck between the two bulbs remains nice and flexible and can easily be bent about, and the faint mould line which runs around the toy can barely be felt on the matte surface.

The base of the B-Balls Duo is identical in design to that of some of Fun Factory's other plugs, such as the Bootie and Boosty, and that happens to be my favourite shape of base in terms of comfort and discretion. On the Original B-Balls the base was considerably narrower, as can be seen in the photo above, so this is a big improvement.

When it comes to wearing and using the plug the B-Balls Duo is actually a lot of fun, and it all starts with a hassle-free insertion thanks to a size and shape which it lets slip into the body with minimal effort. Once the plug's inside it settles into a comfortable position, with the joint between the two bulbs bending to correspond with the curvature of the rectum, while the sphincter comes to rest around the slender neck. For me the total length of the plug is just right, and it sits in place without poking at the top of the rectum, which sometimes can be an issue with anything longer. The small base nestles itself away between the buttocks quite discreetly, allowing it to remain unseen beneath clothing, and its low profile allows you to happily sit on it on any surface hard or soft.

At first it feels, for the most part, just like wearing any other plug. There's this awareness of something being inside you, and it delivers that familiar pleasant sensation, but without feeling overly filling or stretching. The exciting things start to happen when you move though, and the ball bearings inside begin to roll around in response. It's one of those experiences that's almost fitting to be described as unique, but the closest thing I could compare it to is a feeling of a juddering vibration. Every slightest movement of the balls is instantly brought to your attention as they skip along the inner surface of the spheres, jump from side to side, and swing through a series of loops. You have this constant sense of the weight shifting about inside you as they move, and because there are two balls moving in different ways at the same time the weight doesn't shift in balance, with forces throwing around in different directions simultaneously like a mini earthquake within your nether regions. This is what generates that feeling of vibration, and in fact if you examine how any vibrator works they all involve a motor spinning an unbalanced weight around - exactly the same principle. What's notably good about it all is that it's a deep sort of vibration you feel when it occurs, like an intermittent rumble.

What makes the sensation of the B-Balls Duo so novel is the responsiveness of it; it reacts entirely to you and your movements. It's very different to a vibrating plug that just purrs away constantly allowing you to become accustomed to it. The sensation can take you by surprise, delivering a little jolt when you weren't expecting it, and it also acts as a constant reminder that you do in fact have a plug inserted. Mentally this can be quite fun if you decide to go out and about with this little secret, and find yourself constantly teased by these sensations while no one else is any the wiser. I can almost imagine someone sitting on a bus and giving out a little giggle each time it hits a speed bump and the plug tickles them inside with a small flutter. The other thing that's tempting to do with it is to experiment with seeing just how much feeling you can actually get out of it, and how varied it can feel all depending on your activities. Go jogging, do jumping jacks, try skipping rope or hula-hooping; any sort of exercise be it at home or in the gym. Wear it when you go dancing in club; try twerking with the person you've been flirting with all night and see if it improves your rhythm. It can all be quite amusing to go through and it feels good at the same time, and definitely different. It's the perfect way to spice up even the most mundane activity, such as wearing it while you vacuum the carpets, or walk the dog.

One thing I did find was that depending on how vigorous your movement is, you can actually hear a bit of a rattle coming from the plug. I did go to the effort of recording it on my phone if anyone's interested. I wouldn't worry about this though, as for anyone else to hear it then you'd need to be in a silent room with them standing quite close, while you made jerking movements with your hips, and I can't imagine a lot of scenarios like that, but it may take you by surprise at first if you weren't expecting it.

Considering the plug with regard to more long-term wear, the improvements that Fun Factory has made to the base have made a massive difference. The base now nestles comfortably between the buttocks, and the feeling of it even being there at all gradually fades away into the background. Whereas previously it pinched and got sore over time, now there's no problem with wearing the plug for the duration of an entire day.

When it comes down directly to matters of sex and masturbation then I'd be inclined to rule this plug out specifically for those purposes. There are some plugs which you wear simply for the enjoyment of feeling a plug inside you, and for me the B-Balls Duo falls very firmly into that category - this is where it excels. I don't really see the ability of the plug to enhance an orgasm in the same way as one which is designed to press against the prostate. The B-Balls Duo works best as a sort of foreplay plug, teasing you and keeping you semi-aroused as you move around throughout the day, but once you're lying down on your back, moving little more of your body than your right arm, then you're not going to get the benefit of the plug's sensations, so I don't think it's a fit for that situation. A lot of the time with sex toys it's about tailoring the right equipment with the right circumstance, so it's worth bearing that in mind with this toy, and rarely do you find a single product that absolutely does it all.

So now it's time for a verdict on the new and improved B-Balls Duo. I have to say I really love this product, and I can see myself using it far more than I ever did the previous iteration. It still has that completely unique design feature that I strongly urge everyone to go out and experience for themselves, but it's fixed the one big flaw that eventually proved a limiting factor in how often I used the B-Balls before. I'm still incredibly impressed with how Fun Factory responded by correcting the base, and now I can fully recommend this plug with no caveats. It really is a lot of fun.

Thanks to Fun Factory for sending me the new version of this plug. It's available from the lovely people at Lovehoney UK, Lovehoney U.S, Nice 'n' Naughty, or SheVibe.

Tantus Steam Hunk

Black Friday's a-comin' and I figured I'd better get a move on and post this review, because if there's one toy you won't want to miss out on when the sales roll around, it's this one!

Head below to find out what all the fuss is about!

The Steam Hunk is the latest collaboration between one of my all-time favourite sex toy manufacturers, Tantus, and the awesome folks over at SheVibe. This is the very same dream team that gave us the Bound back in 2014, and I couldn't be more happy to see them working together again on new original designs.

It takes a lot to impress me these days, but without exaggeration the Steam Hunk has to be one of the most incredible, unique, and gorgeous toys I've ever laid eyes on. It's a bold statement, and you probably have to be a sex toy reviewer to get this excited over a dildo, or perhaps getting this excited over a dildo is what turns one into a sex toy reviewer to begin with, but either way it's a stunning piece.

The name of the Steam Hunk gives away the inspiration for its design through its clever play on words, because it's steam-punk through and through. Like something resembling an old Victorian boiler, the dildo incorporates pipes, tubing, rivets, layers of sheet metal, and mysterious cannisters, all crafted in loving detail. As lovely as it looks in photos, it's something else to actually hold in your hands and pour over every facet. I want to display it somewhere as much as I want to use it, because it's a piece of art.

The shape of the dildo is vaguely phallic with its big flared tip, and two tanks tucked close to the base of the shaft like a pair of balls. It's raw and industrial, like it's just waiting for you to shovel hot coals into it so it can begin to chug and splutter, and drive a pneumatic piston that thrusts back and forth. It perfectly encapsulates what a clunky steam-driven vibrator might look like, and it does so quite beautifully.

The Steam Hunk comes available in a choice of two colours, a wrought iron black, or a dazzling copper. Both fit the theme, but to my mind it's the copper that does it the most justice, and I'm so happy to see Tantus introduce this new option as it's truly exquisite. The way it gently shimmers in a metallic fashion completely elevates the whole design and makes it extra special.

In terms of size it is quite a hefty dildo, measuring in at 8" tall and with a chunky 4" x 2 3/4" base, but a good portion of it is mostly decorative. There's around 5 1/4" that are actually insertable, and around the widest point it has a circumference of 6 1/8", so if you're more of a thickness over length person (like me) then it should be perfect.

When it comes to using the dildo it's definitely more of an intermediate toy, and even then I'd be inclined to recommend a warm-up first. It is possible to insert it straight off the mark, but it's quite a rounded tip and a rapid taper, so you'll want to go slow. Once you hit the widest point of the corona you get that traditional "pop" sensation as the head gets pulled into the body and you make your way further down the shaft. In contrast to the smooth head the shaft itself is pretty textured, thanks to all intricate detailing exhibited along it, but here's where the material plays a big part. The Steam Hunk is made from Tantus's SuperSoft silicone, which means that none of the texture feels harsh or rough against the body. This is a big contrast to the Bound which looked incredible, but was so firm that the texture felt like sandpaper on my sphincter. Thumbs up to Tantus for making this change, and for their recent trend of using the SuperSoft silicone more widely in general.

Probably the best way to use the Steam Hunk is to straddle it and ride it, because the big broad base and low centre of gravity makes it stand securely upright on any surface. It's a little bit more cumbersome to try to thrust with manually, though still possible if you prefer that. The fact that only around 65% of the dildo is useable means that this portion is essentially elevated up from the ground by the remainder, which makes it even more comfortable for riding as you don't have to go down quite so low when balanced on your knees or haunches, and I always enjoy that.

The thing that makes me happiest about the Steam Hunk is that it performs just as well as it looks, and it's largely down to the shape of the head. The wide slightly-angular design creates a coronal ridge which juts out and carves a path through your prostate like a plough through a field. You don't even need to figure out a special technique for using it, as a simple up and down thrust will have it easily hitting the sweet spot straight away, though you can up the intensity by changing the angle and pulling the flexible silicone even more firmly into the gland. Once you start riding it you really want to keep going and work up a good rhythm, because it does a fantastic job on the prostate. The other thing I like is the texture from the shaft, because it creates an interesting amount of additional sensation in the sphincter which complements what's happening internally. You feel all these delightful subtle little bumps and ridges with every motion. It's probably one of the more comfortable dildos I've used too, because of the limiting factor of how much you can insert. A thrust naturally comes to an end when you reach the tanks at the base of the shaft, and at that point there's no risk of the tip of the dildo crashing into the top of the rectum. You can thrust around as much and as vigorously as you want, knowing that you're protected from discomfort by the soft cushioning silicone and the fact that it can never go too deep.

If I were to try to find any flaw with the Steam Hunk it would only be that it isn't suction cup compatible. It's not a big deal, but it's always a nice option to have in a dildo, and considering the size of the base it could have incorporated a hole to plug one into.

I must say that I am a huge fan of the Steam Hunk, and Tantus have really done it again with this design. It's just so incredibly amazing to look at, and it works like a charm too, so I couldn't ask for anything more. It's redefining what sex toys can be, and should be, with an unseen level of creativity that goes far beyond facsimiles of penises, and I can't wait to see where they go next. I have to whole heartedly recommend this product, because it continues to beguile me even as it sits across from me on a table. I honestly can't think of a better gift for that person in your life who enjoys dildos.

I have to thank Tantus for generously sending the Steam Hunk to me to review. You can pick one up straight from their website, where this Black Friday everything is 50% off!

        Adam by Godemiche

There's a new UK-based manufacturer on the scene, and this week they've asked me to review their very first dildo, the Adam.

Godemiche - literally French for 'dildo' - is a small two-person operation based in Leicester, owned and run by Monika and her partner Adam - whose name does amusingly appear to have been lent to this product - with a focus on making affordable silicone toys.

I'm always keen to promote British business wherever I can, so let's take a look at the Adam!

The Adam started off as Godemiche's sole product when they made their splash into the world of sex toys in 2015. Originally available in just one size, it now has a slightly larger version, an incarnation which comes mounted on a wooden stick, and it can even me made to house a bullet vibrator or suction cup in the base. I'm going to be looking at where it all began, however, with the signature model of the Adam.

It measures in at 6 1/2" in total length, with around 5 3/4" which can be comfortably inserted, making it a fairly modest dildo, but it certainly doesn't look that way. Around the middle of the shaft it measures 5 1/4" circumference, increasing to  5 1/2" around the widest part of the head, and it's this generous girth which fills it out to an impressive overall size. In terms of proportion I think they've got the length to thickness ratio just right, and I can see it suiting a lot of people, especially those who are scared off by a lot of the larger dildos on the market and seeking something more natural. I would stress caution to complete beginners over the girth though, as it is a little beyond the average penis thickness.

The Adam is a quite beautiful dildo, and this is not a point that I make lightly, because the secret is that out there on the wider sex toy market there is an incredible assortment of really rather hideous penis-shaped dildos - thankfully none of which I own. I'm aware that I'm fussy (to put it mildly) but I challenge you to go to any sex toy retailer and not find some twisted facsimile of a penis which looks barely human, let alone desirable to put inside your body. This is a lot of what drew me to the Adam, the aesthetics, because a pretty penis makes me happy. It's a dildo that looks like it was made by someone who understands the human body, and who actually took the time to lovingly carve it / sculpt it / mould it into the best product they could achieve. It starts of with this nice broad head which is suitably plump and proportionate to the size of the shaft, and which also features an impressively-deep urethral opening moulded into the tip. Just slightly below the head is a ridge representing a retracted foreskin, which sits there rather like an Elizabethan ruffled collar, and which follows all the way around the shaft and connects to the underside of the head with a delicate frenulum. The shaft itself is pretty straightforward: it's almost perfectly straight, largely uniform in thickness, and has a pretty circular cross-section. There isn't actually a lot of detail on the shaft, apart from one slightly raised vertical column which runs the length of where the urethra would pass, giving the dildo a nice bit of added realism. Finishing off the dildo is a nice chunky base which makes it anal-safe, harness compatible, and also serves as a handle during use.

The Adam is available in a vast assortment of colours, starting with your basic flesh-tones, and then continuing with pretty much any colour you could pluck out of the spectrum. I was sent a yellow one, which I find pretty cool because you never seem to see yellow sex toys anywhere; it's actually my first one. It's this lovely vibrant lemony colour, but it's ever so slightly translucent around the edges making it look almost wax-like. What I think is really cool though, and what originally drew me to the brand, is the colour combinations and custom effects they make. As everyone knows I love bright unusual looks for sex toys, such as the things you see in the Tantus Grab Bags, but Godemiche have really taken this to the next level. They have marble effects, colour fades, glow-in-the-dark, glittery silicone, and if you don't see precisely the combination you're after then you can made a custom request and they'll fulfil it. They even go one step further with dildos for specific occasions such as Valentine's Day and Halloween, which impressively contain designs embedded within the material. My personal favourite has to be this red and orange one which looks almost like fire, or a Tequila Sunrise. They're turning dildos into art and that excites me. I feel as though I could take a dozen of them and decorate a mantelpiece.

All Godemiche products are handmade from 100% platinum silicone, which is fantastic as it's a non-porous, odourless, body-safe material, that can be sterilised and shared with a partner. You can even toss it in the dishwasher to clean it. The silicone is available in two different firmnesses depending on the type of toy you choose. The more complex colour combinations are available only in "medium," but the solid colours also come in "hard," so whatever suits your preference. The finish on the dildo is smooth and quite glossy, but it's not a really high shine, and you can compare the look and feel with the underside of the base which does have that really polished look to it.

In terms of usage the Adam really does deliver, and I can't tell you how relieved I was to discover that, because it's entirely possible to get all hyped up about the look of a toy and then find out that it's a flop in practice. Not here however. The slightly-tapered tip to the Adam helps it to slip into the body with relatively little issue, though given its size you may be inclined to opt for a warm-up toy first if you lack experience. The smooth surface helps it to glide in comfortably, and all you'll really feel along the way is a slight bump as you pass over the coronal ridge of the head and the foreskin section. It may not be the hugest dildo in the world, but it still gives off that sensation of being pleasantly filling, especially as you go deeper. The girth of the shaft is enough to give a nice little stretch to the sphincter, but you can also feel it filling you internally, and that contour to the head helps it to get further inside you in a way that a blunter dildo would not. I was sent the firmer version of the dildo, and while typically I tend to prefer my toys with a little more squish to them, I actually find the hardness here perfectly enjoyable. There's no sense of it being too solid, and it still bends and flexes about pretty well, so at no time did it really enter my consciousness that I'd prefer something different. In fact I think the fact that it's a little more robust makes the ridges feel more apparent.

        My yellow Adam
When it comes to thrusting with the Adam it's a great experience, and the shape of the dildo actually helps a lot with that. If you orientate the dildo so that the coronal ridge points forwards towards the prostate, then the narrowest portion of the head taper naturally follows the curve of the rectum back towards the spine, so it finds its own path free of resistance. You get a really smooth thrusting experience, with very little sensation of drag from the silicone against the sphincter, and you can feel the fullness from the bulbous head moving back and forth with each stroke. With regard to prostate stimulation it's not something that you notice immediately, but once you start to get up a good rhythm with the thrusting you can really begin to feel the effect of those ridges against the prostate. I found that by doing really long thrusts and almost pulling the head of the dildo out of my body that it made the greatest impact. You get this great combination of the moving fullness, the ridges hitting the prostate, and then a slightly increased stretch on the sphincter as the wider head hits it. I really loved the experience and felt like I could allow myself to get carried away and spend half the night with it, as often is the case when something is working your prostate really well. You have a couple of options on how you can use it, either thrusting by hand or riding it, and personally I'd go with the riding option. The nice broad base keeps it stood upright, and in this position you can get a good regular rhythm going, as well as angling the direction of your thrusting to pull the dildo more into your prostate if you desire. It's a really great dildo for prolonged use because it hits that Goldilocks spot in terms of size and shape. It's big enough to make you feel pleasantly full, but it's not so large that it's a hassle to get in, or will leave you feeling sore, and it offers enough prostate stimulation in each stroke to feel delightfully satisfying, but without being overly intense and requiring you to regularly pause. I can really see it becoming one of my regular go-to dildos in future, when I just want to sit down and have a good time.

The quality of construction in the Adam is absolutely top notch, especially in areas where you might expect problems to arise, such as that deep meatus. I honestly couldn't find a flaw on it anywhere: no seams, no bubbles, no moulding marks, no leftover lumps of silicone. What really impresses me is that this is a toy that's made right here in the UK, and for a small family-run operation it's a really professional-looking product. I absolutely love to support British manufacturing, and it's one of those cases where from humble beginnings I hope that great things will come.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the price, but it's not something I usually bring up. The Adam is £25, and quite frankly that is a steal. Silicone toys can set you back a pretty penny, especially the imported ones, but for £25 you're getting a good-sized dildo, with a great design, and made from the best material you can put inside your body. I can honestly say that the Adam is worth the price, and great value for money.

If you're at all interested in packaging then the Adam comes in a branded resealable plastic pouch, similar to that used by BS in Nice for their Capsule Plug and other products. It's simple and it does the job. My only slight point of concern is that the Adam was 20% cheaper before they switched to this particular packaging, so essentially you're paying £5 for something you're just going to chuck in the bin anyway, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

So let's get to the crux of the matter; would I recommend the Adam? In a word, yes. It's affordable, it's body-safe, it looks fantastic, and it feels great too. It's the whole package, and it's made right here in the UK, so you can feel good about boosting the local economy a little.

Thanks to Godemiche for sending me an Adam to review. You can grab one right now from UberKinky, ThatPosition, and SheVibe

        Silicone Cum Stopper

        $

        0
It's February already and I'm back with another review for my German friends over at Meo.de. This week I'm going to be looking at something a little bit different in the form of the Silicone Cum Stopper. It's essentially a combination product designed to be worn on the penis: part glans ring and part urethral plug, offering you the full experience of both. As always head below for more.

The Silicone Cum Stopper is quite an intriguing little product, and as so often is the case that's what originally drew me to it. I've dabbled with urethral play over the years, but I've never had anything before which was truly wearable in that respect. Indeed one of the drawbacks of typical urethral play is that it always seems to take up a hand; whether it be a full length sound or just a plug, you always need to hold them in place lest they pop out of their own accord, and that can restrict what else you're able to do at the same time. The idea of a toy which takes care of that for you is something which definitely appeals to me.

The basic design of the toy really isn't all that complex. You've got your basic 1 1/4" wide O-ring designed to fit over the head of the penis, and out of the 12 o'clock position comes a horseshoe-shaped hook with an 8.5mm wide ball on the end, which is to be inserted into the urethra. The hook is rather sensibly angled slightly inwards, so it follows the natural contours of the head of the penis, allowing for a better fit.

As name suggests the Silicone Cum Stopper is unsurprisingly made of platinum silicone, and this is especially important when it comes to urethral play, as you want to be using a material that can be sterilised so as to minimise the chance of any infections. Like all silicone it's not the most stretchy material, but it's elastic enough that you can easily expand it to double its diameter when putting it on or taking it off. It comes available in a simple choice of red or black, and it has a nice smooth finish to it. It's not a shiny high-gloss surface, but it's such a subtle matte that there's no discernible texture to it, unlike with the Oxballs sounds I reviewed a few years ago.

Using the Cum Stopper is a pretty straight forward affair as you might imagine. You simply stretch the silicone ring wide enough to pass the head of your penis through it, then release it so that it nestles closely behind the corona, and with the hook lined up with the frenulum on the underside of the glans. The final step is to apply a little sterile lube to the tip of the hook (I would recommend Meo's own "Very Deep" for this purpose) and then slip it into your urethra.

The glans ring feels quite snug around the shaft, but not uncomfortably so. Like any cock ring it acts to hold blood inside the penis, but in this case only the head rather than the full shaft, so you may notice some increased plumpness to the glans, or a deepening of the colour. The urethral plug section offers quite a subtle sensation, it's not that thick, nor does it go that deep, and it lacks the cold hardness of a steel toy, so it feels rather unobtrusive. It just gently tickles the inside of the head as it makes small motions back and forth across the sensitive urethral lining. It's similar to how I imagine it must feel to have the jewellery from a Prince Albert piercing inside you. The act of the glans ring being in place can be to inhibit the movement of the foreskin, causing it to remain retracted even during masturbation, which can lead to a modification of your technique for better or worse depending on how you choose to look at it. One downside though is that the external portion of silicone from the hook blocks access to the sensitive frenulum region, making it difficult to stimulate. I did find that a lot of the time the hook didn't want to stay inside my penis, and it would spring straight out of my urethra, forcing me to reinsert it, or attempt to hold it in place with a finger during masturbation. Part of this is in no doubt due to the flexible nature of the silicone; were it a rigid toy then it would stay in place, but there's also a good likelihood that its ability to stay in place is affected by the shape of the user's penis. Unfortunately knowing whether or not it's going to stay in place for you is something you can only find out by actually trying it.

In terms of whether or not I found that wearing it enhanced my sexual experience, I'd say that the effects were probably negligible. When the hook stayed in my urethra it was nice, but it was also too subtle to make a real impact. The pressure from the glans ring and the extra blood trapped inside the head really didn't cause me any extra sensitivity, and while adapting my masturbation technique was novel, the blocked access to the frenulum made it more difficult to deliver the sensations I wanted.

Overall it's quite a fun little toy, and I feel inspired to try more products in a similar vein, but I don't really see myself using this particular one all that much in the future.

Thanks to Meo.de for sending me the Silicone Cum Stopper, and you can buy it directly from them.

Babes 'n' Horny - The Mack Dildo

It's like 1996 all over again. I can hear it already, ♪ Return of the Mack. ♪

Hey everybody! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. Sorry for my absence so far in 2018 but I'm currently far away avoiding the continuing Winter weather, and shan't be back until next month.

Thanks to the miracle of post queuing I had the foresight to line up a few reviews to fill the gap, so let's get on with this one!

The Mack is my first dildo from Babes 'n' Horny, a London-based company that’s been supplying the UK with hand-poured artisan sex toys since all the way back in 1993. With 25 years experience honing their craft I was pretty excited to get my hands on one and put it through its paces.

Never being one to start small, the Mack is a whopper of a dildo. There’s simply no getting around that. It’s a serious chunk of silicone, all 721 grams of it to be precise. At 10” in total length, and with a base diameter of 4 ½” you can start to get an idea of just how big it actually is.

Sitting on the table across from me it towers over everything, with a staggering lean that makes Pisa look positively vertical. It’s this unusual shape that makes the Mack unique. It’s like the tusk of a baby elephant, starting small at its rounded tip, and getting ever wider as it curves down towards the base.

At the narrow end it measures 4 ½” in circumference, while at the widest useable section it’s an incredible 9”, effectively doubling in size.

The shape does make the dildo especially good at one thing, and that’s in use as a training tool. The slow gentle taper, combined with the curve in the shaft, helps it to both work its way deeper into the body than you might ordinarily be able to manage, and gradually dilate the sphincter muscle to accommodate wider toys. It’s very useful as a practice toy if you’re interested in testing your limits.

In terms of a dildo to thrust with I’d say the Mack definitely has a learning curve, and it’s something you have to figure it out along the way. The first mistake that I made was trying to insert as much of it as I could right at the very beginning, and then once I tried to thrust with it I found that I couldn’t really feel anything. The problem with this approach is that once you’re down near the thick base of the dildo you’ve completely loosened up and relaxed your sphincter, so by the time you start pulling it out again the thinner sections of the shaft fail to make any contact with the areas where you want there to be sensation.

The trick I found was to only insert as much of the dildo as you need for one good stroke, and then it performs more in line with what you might expect. As with any curved dildo there are two main orientations in which you can use it, curved towards the spine, or curved towards the prostate. With it positioned for the latter I found that the prominent ridge on the head was especially effective at simulating the prostate. It seemed to favour short shallow thrusts, and you could really feel the shape of the head intensely rubbing back and forth to a very pleasurable effect.

With the Mack positioned the other way around it really benefited from being used a little deeper. This time it was that impressive girth of the shaft that was really pressing up against the whole prostate every time the bottom of a thrust was reached. It’s a slightly different sensation to the pinpoint intensity of the ridge, but it feels equally as good and it’s always nice to have the option of each.

One downside to the unwieldy size of the Mack is that it’s somewhat awkward for solo use. You’re more or less relegated to placing it on a surface and riding it, because the weight and shape of the base doesn’t make it comfortable to hold. Even when riding it I found that the base would rarely sit flat against the surface it was resting on, because in that position the curve felt too extreme for comfortable use, so it ended up tilted forwards onto one of its edges.

What I do imagine the Mack is great for though is pegging, because that base is going to fit extremely securely into an O-ring harness, and the whole thing will hang down more naturally from the body at just the right angle. You are going to want a secure harness though, as the weight of the Mack requires serious support.

The Mack is a really nicely made toy, so I can definitely attest to the quality of Babes ‘n’ Horny products. As with anything that’s completely handmade there are a few little peculiarities, such as the odd bump or divot that doesn’t seem as though it’s supposed to be there, but it’s really very minor.

The dildos are available in practically every colour that you can imagine. I got mine in this stunning shade of red, which I’d hoped to show off more, but the high gloss finish is so shiny that I could barely get the camera on my phone to focus on it!

The Mack isn’t cheap, but if you want to make an investment in a dildo you can grab one from their website.

        Pocket Pulse by Hot Octopuss

Here's review number two to keep you going while I'm still away!

Right before Christmas last year my friends over at Hot Octopuss managed to sneak in an all new product launch, and they were kind enough to send me one to review, so let's go take a look at it.

The Pocket Pulse marks the fourth product in Hot Octopuss's line of Pulse guybrators, and also the first one to depart from the established design.

It may look different, but there's actually something deeper going on behind the smaller size and reshaped shell, because the Pocket Pulse doesn't employ the patented Pulse Plate technology found in the other models.

So what exactly is the Pocket Pulse then? Well the Pocket Pulse functions similarly to other Pulse models, but rather than incorporating the Pulse's signature oscillations it includes two standard vibrating motors, and in turn it's intended to be used somewhat differently.

What was unique about the Pulse was its "no thrust" approach to male stimulation, but the Pocket Pulse is designed to be used in a more traditional fashion, which should appeal to any guy out there who really enjoys the mechanical action associated with sex and masturbation.

The Pocket Pulse is also 30% cheaper than the Pulse III, making it all the more worth investigating.

The first thing I like about the Pocket Pulse is the size. It's so much lighter and more compact, and it nestles so comfortably in the palm of your hand. It's the sort of thing you could think about travelling with, as well as having a place in your bedside drawer.

The other thing I quite like is the newly designed enclosure, which replaces the two wings from before with a single arm. This makes it easier to get in and out of the device, though it still doesn't help too much for anyone who has a wide shaft. I found that in order to accommodate my girth the whole product would twist into the 2 o'clock position, and the left side of the shaft would protrude from the gap in the arm. This was mildly inconvenient but didn't prevent the product from functioning.

The Pocket Pulse has two buttons to operate it, one located on each side of the body. A silver + turns on the device and increases the vibration strength, while a silver - decreases the power of the vibrations and turns the device off once more.

What's interesting about the vibrations is that they don't appear to have any sort of focal point on the surface of the toy. There's a raised section inside the channel which mimics the appearance of the Pulse Plate from the other models, and which you would assume is intended to be the main source of the vibrations, but in fact it's not. The vibrations seem to emanate from inside the body of the toy and make the entire thing vibrate equally. You feel as much vibration from the exterior section which you're holding with your hand, as you do from the interior where your penis is, which I can't help but find a little strange.

There are seven vibration levels in total, with the least powerful one feeling the most rumbly, and the strongest one bordering on being quite buzzy. They feel distinctly different to the oscillations of traditional Pulse, far more so than I would have expected.

In terms of use you really do have to follow the directions with the Pocket Pulse. Out of sheer curiosity I initially tried using it in a stationary fashion à la the Pulse III and had little luck. When you do use it correctly, however, it actually works rather well. What's nice is that you can actually start using it in a flaccid state if you're not already aroused. They do recommend using lube with it, but I found that the silicone arm managed to snag onto my foreskin, allowing the head of the penis to slip in and out of it just as it would were I using my hand. The fact that I was able to do this also helped to mitigate some of the tightness I was feeling as my penis bulged out of the channel.

The vibrations did feel good during use, and complemented the overall experience, but I couldn't help but feel that it was the manual thrusting that was doing most of the stimulation, and the vibrations were more of a sideshow, like a little added titillation to push you over the edge. It was that revelation which made me think that perhaps enough thought hadn't gone into that aspect of the design. If I were to rank what I most wanted to thrust my penis into, my hand, a Fleshlight, or the Pocket Pulse, then the Pocket Pulse would ultimately come last. A firm silicone shell just isn't ideal for a thrusting toy,  which becomes an issue when the stimulation seems to primarily come from the thrusting.

One question which always comes up with the Pulses is the noise level, because the original models are not discreet at all, something I'd come to accept as just being a side effect of the unique Pulse Plate technology. What surprised me here is just how noisy the Pocket Pulse is too. I really thought that using traditional vibrating motors they'd be able to reduce the level significantly, but that's not the case at all. The major problem I have in this instance is that it's really hard to make any sort of excuse for the noise. With the other models you at least knew that you were getting this intense level of power along with all the racket, but with the Pocket Pulse there's more noise than there is sensation.

The Pocket Pulse honestly is a confusing toy for me, because I don't know what it's trying to be, and  therefore what I should pull it up on. If it's a vibrator then it's not a great vibrator because you have to thrust with it to make it work, and you get more stimulation from the thrusting action. If it's a manual stroker then it's not a great stroker either because the thrusting sensation doesn't feel as good as other products on the market, or even your hand. If you take it just at face value, as this slightly conflicted product in a category all of its own, then yes, it does work, but it's certainly not amazing. It manages to take two different concepts for masturbation, which can both work amazingly in their own right, and combines them to create something which works less well on both fronts.

I do admire Hot Octopuss for what they're attempting to with revolutionising male sex toys, but for me this one is a bit of a swing and miss. If you're looking for a truly great experience with a vibrating/oscillating masturbator, then you're far better off spending a little more on a Pulse III and getting the real deal. If you primarily want a stroker for that traditional male masturbation experience, then there's a whole world of Fleshjacks and Tengas out there which will blow your mind.

The Pocket Pulse is by no means a terrible product, it's just kind of mediocre, and mediocre with a £70 price tag, which makes it hard to justify to anyone. I got some enjoyment out of it in the process of multiple testing, but the crux of the matter is that I honestly can't see myself ever reaching to use it again.

Thanks to Hot Octopuss for sending me this to review, and you can find it on their website
